The Penguins have managed to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals 2009, thanks to a little help from Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. The duo has been compared to Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr, which has to be a huge compliment to both players.
This is back-to-back trips to the Stanley Cup Finals for the Penguins, as they have now completed a sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes beating them in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals, which was held at the RBC Center.
USA Today explains that the Penguins will now have to wait and see if they will face the Detroit Red Wings, last season, they prevailed in six games. The Red Wings are leading the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1, tonight is Game 5 of the Western Conference finals.
