A Lufkin man suffered severe injuries when he blacked out while driving Wednesday morning near Center, according to ShelbyCountyToday.com.
About 8:15 a.m. Robert Ferguson, 29, was traveling east on state Highway 7 west one mile from Center in a 2008 Honda Civic, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Ryan McCasland.
Ferguson's car moved into the westbound lane, striking the back of a 2002 Chevrolet pickup towing a trailer. Ferguson had incapacitating injuries and emergency responders took him to Shelby Regional Medical Center. A medical center spokeswoman said Thursday she had no information on Ferguson.
No information was available on whether the Chevrolet driver, David John Ray, 62, of Center, suffered any injury, but Ferguson was the only person taken to the hospital from the accident.
It was not clear what caused Ferguson to black out. The accident remains under investigation, according to McCasland.
