Jim Wood, 59, was originally over the moon when he was offered a 14-day free trial of the slimming drink. But trouble brewed quickly after he filled-in his details - and he ended up being stung for several payments which he couldn’t get the company to stop.
Anxious Jim told the Times him and wife Celia, a carer, have so far been hit with bills from Cyprus-based company Wu-Yi Source totalling £152.
He said: “It was supposed to be a free trial that you could just cancel if you didn’t want it. I didn’t want to join up but they kept charging me . I got three charges for membership but every time I contacted them they said they didn’t have any record in their books.”
